Professional liability
Claims arising from planning errors, missed bookings and coordination.
A wedding cannot be rescheduled quietly. That makes the stakes on a planning error higher than in almost any other event work.
Wedding planning carries the same professional exposure as general event planning with two differences: the event is unrepeatable, and the emotional weight makes clients considerably more likely to pursue a claim when something goes wrong.
A corporate function can be rescheduled. A wedding effectively cannot, so a failure on the day produces a claim that cannot be remedied by doing it again. Professional liability is the cover that answers it.
Most weddings involve eight or ten vendors under your coordination. Requiring each to carry their own liability and provide a certificate naming you is the single most effective way to keep other people's failures off your policy.

We are an independent agency, so we place your wedding planner insurance across several carriers rather than fitting you to one company's product. That means a genuine comparison, and someone to call who is not a call centre.
Almost always — general liability naming the venue as additional insured, commonly at $1 million. Requirements vary by venue, and multiple venues on one day means multiple certificates.
The couple will usually come to you as the coordinator. Professional liability responds, and requiring vendors to carry their own cover reduces how often it has to.
The cover is broadly the same. What differs is the stakes — a wedding cannot be rerun, so claims are less easily resolved and clients pursue them more readily.
Planners are judged on things they arranged but did not perform. That is a professional liability exposure, not a premises one.
